Labour Youth is an ever growing youth organisation and in the last few years has seen its membership triple. As an organisation, we campaigned in the 2009 local and 2011 general elections to elect young, hard-working Labour representatives to office. We are currently gearing up for the 2011 presidential election, in which we hope to elect our party President Michael D. Higgins to Áras an Uachtaráin.
The success and growth of Labour Youth depends on the hard work of its members. Around Ireland young, democratic socialists are building and maintaining LY branches in their colleges and constituencies. They are the people who run campaigns and ensure a Labour presence in the area.
If you would like to start a new college or constituency branch your help, as always, would be invaluable to Labour Youth. Please contact Aideen Carberry, National Recruitment Officer, at a.carberry89@gmail.com. You will be given all the help and support we can offer.
